Soil Samples:
For weekends and after hours, we have soil sample bags and instructions available outside our office door.? Bring 2 cups of soil and be prepared to fill out the information on the bag. You may leave your sample in the soil sample drop box.? Follow the instructions to submit payment of $8.00 per sample (cash or checks made payable to Hall County Extension Office).?

August 2025 Results from 海角官方首页 Radon Program
Data collected between August 1-31, 2025.
- Radon is a invisible, naturally occurring gas and is the second leading cause of lung cancer. 21,000 Americans die of radon-induced lung cancer yearly.
- 71 radon test kits were submitted for analysis. 12 homes had elevated levels of radon.
- 19.35% - nearly 1 in 5 homes tested had elevated radon levels this month.
- 11 counties had elevated radon levels, increasing Georgians' risk for lung cancer.
- Hall County had the highest radon level at 11.9 pCi/L which is nearly 3 times the EPA's Action Level!
