The Georgia 4-H Pumpkin Growing Contest offers the opportunity to exhibit knowledge and ability to cultivate and grow one or more pumpkins over a regulated period of time. Growing the heaviest pumpkin incorporates the basic aptitude of measurement concepts. Preparation skills, research abilities, and patience in this field of agricultural and environmental sciences enhance the ability to excel in this competition. In addition to learning the fundamentals of growing and caring for pumpkins, mathematical knowledge of space, depth, and irrigation will prepare participants for a successful harvest. Common problem-solving skills, such as insect patrol, are essential elements gained throughout this experience.
This contest is open to all 4-H'ers, kindergarten through 12th grade, and only one submission is allowed per 4-H'er. All entries must be submitted in Event Registration by Tuesday, October 21, 2025. This year’s results will be announced on Monday, October 27, 2025, just after National Pumpkin Day, October 26.
Cash prizes will be awarded to participants as follows:
1st Place? $100.00 ? ? ? 2nd Place $50.00????? 3rd Place $25.00
These prizes will be sent by the State 4-H Office. Prize money is graciously sponsored by the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association. We ask that 4-H’ers please send them a thank you card showing their appreciation for their support of this contest.?
Contacting the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association regarding prize money will result in disqualification.

Encourage your 4-H youth to design a December holiday card for the Georgia 4-H Foundation, which will be sent to 4-H supporters to express our gratitude and well-wishes. The top prize is $100!
Holiday Card Contest Rules:
1. All entries must be the student’s original drawing on an 8.5 x 5.5-inch (or 5.5 x 8.5-inch) sheet of white, unlined paper. No digitally created or AI entries will be accepted.
2. Entries must be completely original. The winning entry will go through a verification process to ensure originality.
3. All entries should somehow include 4-H in the theme for the message or design.
4. All entries must be colorful, so they can be reproduced on the card.
5. Each entry must be accompanied by an official entry form filled out by the 4-H’er and signed by the county 4-H staff member. Digital signatures accepted.
6. All active 4-H members are eligible to participate.

8. Scanned color copies of the original drawing and entry form can be sent via email to 4hfndtn@uga.edu?(subject line: 2025 Holiday Card Contest)?by the deadline. Note: These entries must still be the hand-drawn entry. No digitally created entries will be accepted.
9. If any of the above rules are not followed, the entry may be disqualified.
10. Georgia 4-H reserves the right to modify the entry.
