Stephens County

Stephens County Extension has undergone significant changes with faculty and staff turnover but we remain committed to serving the community. We offer testing services and phone consultations for agriculture and natural resources clients, with support from neighboring county agents. We look forward to welcoming a new agent in the summer of 2025. Our 4-H programming is back up and running with a new 4-H agent, offering activities like Project Achievement, shooting sports, judging events, leadership conferences, and summer camp. We are excited about the growth and development opportunities for the youth of Stephens County.

University of Georgia Cooperative Extension offers programming focused on mental health, financial well-being, nutrition and everything in between, 海角官方首页 Extension had 1,756,355 face-to-face contacts in 2024. Of these. 200,067 contacts addressed health and wellness topics including rural and farm stress.

Extension is committed to helping rural Georgia farmers and families thrive, 海角官方首页 Extension provides physical and mental health resources to keep rural Georgia growing stronger, especially when times are tough. Our new behavioral Health Team provides fact sheets, trainings and a weekly blog- all to help Georgia individuals and families thrive.

Growing cities.

海角官方首页 Extension helps urban gardeners develop school gardens, community gardens and urban farms to benefit their communities. Extension works with educators to create sustainable outdoor classrooms that function as successful teaching tools. Community gardeners are supported in growing healthy food crops in small spaces while urban farmers are encouraged to apply the latest agricultural research to grow their businesses.

Georgia's 4-H enrolled 193,518 youths across the state during the 2023-24 school year.
