Wilkes County Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) programming aims to use unbiased, research-based information and recommendations to provide agricultural assistance to both producers and homeowners. ANR Agents can assist on a variety of different topics, including but not limited to:
- Soil testing and management
- Pond and fish management
- Livestock management (cattle, sheep, goats, swine, horses, poultry, etc.)
- Well water management and testing
- General water testing, bacterial testing, lead/radon testing
- Pasture and forage management
- Hay and row crop production
- ?Pathogen and pest identification or information (insects, plant disease, etc.)
- Horticulture (fruit, vegetable, ornamental)
Your ANR agent can provide recommendations and resources via in-office consultations, on-site evaluations, and by phone or email.
