Camden 4-H Clubs & Programs

Our Local Program

Camden County 4-H serves youth enrolled in public, private, and home schools in 5th?-12th?grades.? Our program year coincides with the public school year, and runs August 1 – July 31.? Every year, members need to complete an online enrollment form for that program year.? There is no cost to enroll. We participate in local, district, and state events including Junior and Senior conferences held every spring and fall at Rock Eagle; Project Achievement for Cloverleafs (5th - 6th),? Juniors (7th-8th), and Seniors (9th - 12th); State Council, Camps at the beautiful Georgia 4-H centers, and much more!? We also have a multitude of summer activities each year available to all 4-H'ers.

Local School Year Programs by Grade:

5th Grade
5th graders in all 9 elementary public schools participate in monthly in-school meetings, where we teach leadership, healthy living, and educational content that aligns with Georgia’s education standards.? All 5th grade students in public, private, or home schools are welcome to join any of our specialty clubs and summer programs.

6th?Grade - Middle School Students
6th graders in all school settings (public, private, or home school) are welcome to participate in all specialty clubs and summer programs.

7th - 12th grades - Middle & High School Students
Middle school and high school students in all school settings (public, private, or home school) are encouraged to be a part of our County Council.? This group meets monthly to fellowship and learn life skills, leadership, and healthy living concepts in a fun and interactive enrvironment.? All students are welcome to join any of our specialty clubs and summer programs.? Ask the 4-H Agent about special opportunities for teens!

All Grades 5th - 12th
Everyone is encouraged to participate in District Project Achievement!
We offer Specialty Clubs that meet monthly.? Open to public, private, and home school students.? These can change from year to year to adapt to our communities wants and needs.? In an effort to provide our youth with the highest level of privacy and safety, all members of this group must be granted access by one of our administrators.? Parents and family members of participating youth in the Camden County 4-H program along with Camden County Stakeholders are typically the only members allowed.

Special Interest Clubs & Competition Teams

Special interest clubs in Camden County offer youth a unique experience to learn, grow, make new friends, and just have fun.? Most special interest clubs and competition teams are volunteer led programs.? Meetings are typically held once a month and occur during late afternoon or evening hours.? Our S.A.F.E program does practice more frequently. ?

Camden 4-H appreciates all our adult volunteers and we are always looking for new volunteers to lead a new club or help with an existing club.? For more information, visit our Volunteer with 4-H page.

Cloverleaf Cooking Club

Cloverleaf Cooking Club is open to all students 5th - 7th grades.? This in our introductory cooking class and the program is designed to teach utensil use and basic culinary cooking skills. This group meets on a monthly basis starting in October at the 4-H office in Woodbine. There will be a small fee to participate!

Participation is limited to 15 students and this club does charge a fee of $15 per class, which covers the cost of ingredients and supplies. Please let us know of any food allergies/restricions.

Jr/Sr Cooking Club

Jr/Sr Cooking Club is open to all students 8th - 12th grades and for 7th graders who have completed Cloverleaf Cooking Club.? This is our advanced cooking class and the program is designed to further develop cooking skills learned in the Cooking Club I class.? Youth who wish to perfect their skills often compete in Project Achievement. This group meets on a monthly basis? at the 4-H office in Woodbine. ?

Participation is limited to 15 students and this club does charge $15 per class, which covers the cost of ingredients and supplies for each meeting.? Please let us know of any food allergies/restrictions.

Fishing Club (2024-25 dates coming soon)

Fishing Club is open to all students 5th - 12th grades. This club is designed to teach youth how to bait & cast a fishing rod, simple tackle repair, fishing theory, and lots of fun practicing their skills and catching fish!? All fish caught are released after having their photo taken! ? This group meets monthly on Saturdays throughout the school year at various locations. There will be a small fee to participate!

Participation is limited to 15 students and this club does charge a fee of $25. which covers the cost of bait and tackle.

Additional Fishing Fun Days occur during school holidays and summer.? A $10 fee is due the day of the event.
