Camden County Master Naturalist Course Overview

Are you a nature enthusiast? Are you interested in learning more about the habitats and ecosystems right here in Camden County? If so you should consider becoming a Georgia Master Naturalist! The Master Naturalist Program, developed in 2004, is a series of weekly programs that uses hands-on environmental education to explore habitats, ecosystems and human impact. These sessions are customized to the location that they are offered in and can include swamps, ponds, rivers, wetlands, forests, urban landscapes and the issues affecting them.

The Camden County Master Naturalist Program is held during nine Friday's each spring for a total of 54 contact hours.? The course involves field trips and hands-on experiences most weeks which requires moderate physical ability and stamina.? Course participants learn about the biology and management of a variety of coastal natural resources from various experts and specialists in an array of natural resource fields.? At the end of the course, participants that attended at least 8 out of 9 sessions receive a certificate.? Due to the demand for this course and the time that our expert colleagues dedicate, we ask that participants only register if they can commit to 8 out of 9 sessions.? Our office keeps a waiting list of interested individuals who get registration information sent directly to them each year when it is released (usually around the end of December).? If you would like to be put on the waiting list please email uge3039@uga.edu.

This program is currently not being offered.??ANR Agent,? Jessica Warren retired in July 2025.
