Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Program

About

The Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer (MGEV) Program connects 海角官方首页 Extension, plant enthusiasts, and communities across the state. MGEVs share 海角官方首页 Extension consumer horticulture programming about selection and care of plants for ornamental value, recreation, and home food production. Master Gardeners teach community members how to use plants and gardening to improve their environment, personal health, and quality of life.

Glynn County is home to a Master Gardener program that has been running for the last 10 years! Projects that the Glynn Co MGEV have worked on include Horticulture Therapy, Adult Education, Starting a Community Garden, Composting Demonstrations, and more. These volunteers also put in great effort to help homeowners answer their individual questions by performing site visits or responding to calls/emails that come into the Extension Office. ?

Training Information

At this time, Glynn County Extension is not able to offer the training course to become a Master Gardener. Please check back for more updates.

You may be interested in volunteering alongside the current Master Gardners to pick up on their skills and knowledge. If so, schedule an appointment with M.C. Halbrook to discuss the volunteer role, expectations, and garden work days! mchalbrook@gmail.com or 912-580-0256 (cell)

Extension offers consumer horticulture educational sessions that contains information shared at the Master Gardener trainings. These programs and events may not go into as much detail, but can provide a jumping point to learn more. View the Extension Calendar and Upcoming Events page to find virtual and in-person educational events that are open to the public.
