Our Impact
Making A Difference in Our County
University of Georgia Cooperative Extension is working hard for its constituents. The following are examples of Extension’s impact in the county over the past year.
AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES
Agriculture and Natural Resources successfully implemented educational programs for agricultural awareness, small-farm profitability in beef and forage production and Master Gardener volunteer initiatives. Greene County Master Gardeners volunteered over 300 hours and reached over 250 clientele.
4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Greene County 4-H strives to make the best better through in-school programming, which reached over 400 students through science and English curricula. 4-H fosters an environment where significant impact is achieved in after-school project clubs, District Project Achievement and community service events where students have logged over 450 service hours. Our mission is to provide the space and opportunity for youth to become well-rounded productive citizens.
