4-H Shooting Sports

Project S.A.F.E. logoProject S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is an active program, attractive to youth and adult audiences. The program is curriculum based and designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and avocational activities. The program uses experiential learning and positive interactions with youth and adult role models to help young people develop self-concept, self-assurance and a positive self-image.

Enhance youth development of self-concept, character and personal growth through safe, educational and socially acceptable involvement in shooting activities.

  • To involve youth in a life skills program that teaches safe and responsible use of firearms including sound decision-making, self-discipline and concentration.
  • To promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
  • To expose participants to the broad array of vocational and life-long avocation activities related to shooting sports.
  • To strengthen families through participation in life-long recreational activities.
  • To complement and enhance the impact of existing safety, shooting and hunter education programs using experiential (hands on) educational methods and progressive development of skills and abilities.

SAFE Sports

4-H S.A.F.E. (Shooting, Awareness, Fun, and Education) program aims to help our youth acquire distinct life skills that enable them to master SAFE and responsible firearm practices. We have Archery, BB and Shotgun teams.

Register is still open for Archery, and/or Shotgun. Call 706-675-3513

BB teams began?on October 7th, registration for BB is now closed, per the Coaches. Archery and Shotgun teams will begin October 19th, 2025.

Archery Team

(4th - 12th graders, about ages 9-18 years old)?

  • Archery registration is required to join the team. ($125.00)
  • Practices for 2025-2026 will be on Sundays.
  • Archery bow may be required, please call for coach contact information.
  • 4-H'er will need to complete an online Hunter Education Coarse and turn in the number to the 4-H office.
  • 4-H'er will need to complete a Medical form and a Code of Conduct form, copy to the coach and the 4-H office.

BB Team

(4th - 9th graders, about ages 9-15 years old)?

  • BB registrations is required to join the team. ($125.00)
  • Practices for 2025-2026 will be on Tuesdays.
  • BB guns are not required to be purchased. If you have the competition?model 499B, if you do not the fee is $135.00 through the group 4-H purchase.
  • 4-H'er will need to complete a Medical form and a Code of Conduct form, copy to the coach and the 4-H office.

(7th - 12th graders, about ages 12-18 years old)?

  • Shotgun?registration is required to join the team. ($125.00)
  • Practices for 2025-2026 will be on Sundays.
