Jasper County Extension offers a wealth of information and services to residents of our county. Our Agriculture and Natural Resources programs provide research -based information, educational programming, and resources to homeowners and commercial clientele in a variety of areas. ANR Agent

Derrick Jones has been with Jasper County Extension since July 2022.

Before coming to Jasper County, Derrick served as a 4-H/Agriculture Agent for Auburn University in Henry County, AL, an Agriculture Teacher/FFA advisor for 7 years, an Assistant Principal/CTAE Director in Hart County, GA for 12 years and a Vice Principal in Alaska for 3 years.

  • May 13 Small Ruminant Parasite Workshop Join us on May 13th from 1:00-5:00pm at Emmanuel University's Agriculture Center for our Small Ruminant Parasite Workshop! Shanna Reynolds, Oglethorpe County ANR Agent, will be training all participants in FAMACHA scoring and fecal sample analysis. All participants will leave the course with FAMACHA certification. Throughout the workshop, we will be highlighting proper parasite management in your small ruminant herds! Registration is $35 per participant. You can register by clicking here or by calling our office at 706-376-3134. Your spot is not reserved until payment at the Hart County Extension Office is made. We hope you will join us in May to learn all about parasite management!
