Welcome to Madison County!

Located only 17 miles northeast of Athens-Clarke County and the University of Georgia, Madison County covers 285 square miles in the Piedmont region of Northeast Georgia. Madison County's number one industry is agriculture.?According to the 2022 Georgia Farm Gate Value Report, Madison County is #5 in agricultural production, with a total farm gate value of more than $487 Million.

Much of the agriculture in the county is centered around Georgia's large poultry industry, but Madison County also has a diversified agriculture, with many acres devoted to beef cattle, goats, and sheep; hay, soybeans, and small grains; as well as timber production and several small vegetable farms that raise produce for farmers markets.

The classroom has posters and a whiteboard with writing in the background. A graphic overlay at the top includes the Madison County 4-H logo and the text “4-H Youth Development.”
Two women stand in a kitchen preparing a meal together. One woman is stirring food in a pan while the other holds the lid. Both are smiling and appear to be enjoying the activity. The kitchen is cozy and warmly lit, with tiled walls and wooden cabinets. A banner at the top of the image reads “Family and Consumer Sciences.”
