Dean's Award

The Dean's Awards were established to encourage participation and achievement by 4-H youth in areas fundamental to the mission of 4-H, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. They also recognize youth who have participated in and excelled at a broad spectrum of activities and experiences over a sustained period of time.

The Awards also aim to improve participants' resume-preparation and interviewing skills

Competition participants will submit a cumulative portfolio that spans their entire 4-H career for judges to score. In each of the Dean's Awards' six project areas, individuals with the five highest portfolio scores will be selected as finalists and asked to participate in interview.

Key Award

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the award is to recognize 4-H members who have demonstrated consistent growth in the 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community. It encourages the development of outstanding citizens through participation in a broad range of 4-H activities.

GUIDELINES: This application must be typed. The application is divided into eight sections. Points are limited in each section based on the space provided; no additional pages/spaces may be added. Although eligibility begins in the 9th grade, points are cumulative starting in the 7th grade.

State Board Applications

Any 4-H'ers in the 9th-11th grad in the 2024-2025 school year interested in submitting an application for the Georgia 4-H Board of Directors (State Officers) should complete the State 4-H Officer Nomination Packet and recommendation forms.

While a paper copy of the application is accessible for reference, all applications must be completed using the Google Form linked within the application.

At the end of the application, the only thing uploaded should be a copy of the signature page and letters of recommendation.

Please ensure all required materials are submitted by the deadline.
