Sep 7 Paulding County 4-H Archery Team Information Meeting Dallas, GA Paulding County 4-H Archery Team will host their annual information meeting on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the Paulding County Parks and Recreation Complex (210 Paulding Lane, Dallas, GA 30132). The meeting will start at 3:00 pm and will last approximately one hour. The Archery Team is available to Paulding County students, to include public, private, and home school, in the grades of 5th-12th. The team is limited to 35 archers. Georgia 4-H Project SAFE uses shooting sports to teach many valuable life skills. Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) provides youth a place to develop a sense of belonging, learn teamwork in a safe environment and increase concentration skills. Safety and the responsible use of equipment is a primary goal.
Sep 8 The Joy of Bird Watching Dallas, GA Learn about gardening timely topics with Master Gardener Extension Volunteers at the Dallas Library. Birdwatching" is the casual observation of birds, often in one's backyard or local park. "Birding," on the other hand, often implies a more active and dedicated pursuit, involving seeking out birds, identifying them by sight and sound, keeping detailed lists, and potentially traveling to find rare species. When: 8 September. 4 pm Presenter: Phillip Prichard, Paulding County Extension Master Gardner Volunteer, Birds Georgia Master Birder, and 海角官方首页 Master Naturalist In this presentation, you will gain knowledge of: ? Sep 10 Sprouts in the Garden with Master Gardeners Dallas, GA Sprouts in the Garden beginning at 5 pm at the Dallas Library, 1010 East Memorial Drive, Dallas, 30132 Join us for a garden themed story and activity for the young gardeners, pre-K-2nd grade.
Sep 17 4-H Senior Club (7th-12th) Dallas, GA We are excited to kick off the new 4-H year for our 7th-12th grade students with a tie-dye party on Wednesday, September 17th from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Paulding 4-H office located at 530 West Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132. We’ll tie-dye shirts, discuss leadership and officer positions, and plan activities for the whole year. Students can bring their own white shirt or pre-order a 4-H shirt for $10 from the 4-H office by calling 770-443-7616. Shirt order is due by Friday, September 5th.

    Monarda, commonly known as beebalm, is a North American perennial naturally found in woodlands, meadows, and floodplains. Aside from its aesthetics, beebalm offers environmental benefits, as its flowers, seeds, and shoots provide forage and habitat for many species of wildlife, including insects and birds. This publication covers the results of performance trials for 10 popular Monarda plants in the montane and piedmont (i.e., northern) Georgia regions.

    This publication lists vegetable variety recommendations for the state of Georgia. Most of these varieties have been trialed and grown successfully in the state. These are not the only varieties that can grow well in Georgia but provide new gardeners with a starting point to increase their chances of success. Gardeners may need to search print catalogs and online to find the vegetables they are looking for, as local garden centers may not always carry the varieties listed here.
