Apply now to serve as a 4-H Volunteer with Richmond County 4-H!
Requirements:
Adult volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Volunteers working with youth must complete a volunteer application online, supply 3 non-related references, pass a background check, complete an Adult Code of Conduct agreement and complete the online training, Georgia 4-H: Working with Youth & Managing Risk.
Volunteer drivers must pass a Motor Vehicle screening (included in volunteer application).

Oct 18 Richmond County 4-H Fishing Club Richmond County 4-H Fishing Club is open to Richmond County youth in 4th through 12th grades during the 2025-2026 school year. No experience is necessary. We will learn about different local species and basic fishing steps. Fishing Club will meet one Saturday per month, 8:00am-11:00am at Spirit Creek Farm, 4010 Smokey Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. Fishing Club will meet in September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May, except for cancellations due to inclement weather. We will learn basic care and knowledge of horses, such as parts of a horse, grooming, tack, and feeding. We will meet at the horse field, so wear boots or any closed-toe shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Horse Club will meet one Saturday per month 10:00am-12:00 Noon at Spirit Creek Farm, 4010 Smokey Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815. Horse Club will meet in September, October, November, January, February, March, April and May, except for cancellations due to inclement weather. Nov 8 - Nov 10 Junior Conference - Richmond County 4-H Richmond County 6th-8th grade 4-H'ers are invited to attend Junior Conference at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, November 8-9, 2025. The weekend includes a mix of workshops and education sessions, along with opportunities for community service and exhibits, planned by and led by the Junior Board of Directors. Recreational programs for 4-H’ers are included to allow 4-H’ers to interact with youth from all over Georgia. Educational workshops, community service, and recreation are led by high school-aged teen leaders. Transportation provided by Richmond County 4-H. This year's theme is "Accelerate with Georgia 4-H!" Nov 8 Richmond County 4-H Gardening Club Our Mission Statement: The purpose of youth gardening is to introduce gardening, conservation, protection of wildlife, recognition of plants, trees, and shrubs, basic flowering, and a love and appreciation of nature. The goal is that they will be future citizens who will be responsible and capable with greater self-expression, dignity, integrity, and knowledge of their environment. We are dedicated to growing minds in a stimulating, secure, and privileged environment through our high-quality, early-learning enrichment classes prior to planting any seeds. Richmond County 4-H Gardening Club is open to 4th-12th grade students who are interested in learning more about gardening and pollinators. The club is led by Augusta Area Master Gardener, Ms. Joy Brown. The club meets once a month on a Saturday morning, 10:00am-11:30am, at 2473 Golden Camp Rd., Augusta, GA. Dec 13 - Dec 15 Fall Forum Fall Forum is a recreational and educational opportunity planned for Seniors 4-H’ers (9th-12th grades). The weekend includes a mix of workshops and education sessions, along with opportunities for community service and exhibits, all planned by and led by 4-H’ers. Recreational programs for 4-H’ers are included to allow 4-H’ers to interact with youth from all over Georgia. In addition, training and educational opportunities are also offered for 4-H volunteers during the weekend. This year's theme is a Home-Alone-inspired theme with the slogan "You are Never Alone in Your 4-H Home!". Registration includes Saturday lunch and dinner, lodging, Sunday breakfast and transportation to and from the event. Registration deadline is November 25.
