  • May 29 Food Preservation workshop 1: Canning Strawberry Jam Interested in learning more about food preservation? Come join our canning series. In these classes, you will learn how to safely preserve various items. Participants will hear a lecture about the product from one of our Family and Consumer Sciences agents followed by an opportunity to can the recipe in small groups. Participants will receive copies of the recipe, handouts, small canning supplies and 1 jar of the product prepared in class. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Classes will cost $30 each, $80 if you want to attend all 3 classes in the series and $115 if you want to attend all 3 classes and receive a copy of our Food Preservation cookbook So Easy to Preserve.

  • Jun 23 - Jun 28 Walton County 4-H Cloverleaf Camp Rock Eagle (Grades 4-6) 4-H Camp is open to all Walton County 4th, 5th, & 6th graders and is scheduled for June 23-27 at Rock Eagle 4-H Center. Campers will take educational classes, participate in recreational activities, meet people from all over Georgia, make new friends and have the time of their lives! Cost includes transportation, insurance, lodging, all activities, t- shirt and meals. Additional information will be emailed to parents in May. Camp Orientation meetings will be held in May-attendance is highly encouraged. Partial 4-H Camp Scholarships are available and based on 4-H participation and financial need. Contact Walton County 4-H Office for scholarship Application. If you would like to apply, register your child following regular camp sign-up procedures There will be a $100.00 camp deposit. After registration and deposit is complete, scholarship applications should be submitted to 4-H/Extension Staff at walton4h@uga.edu.
